Patients with COVID-19 disease may temporarily leave their pets in the “Hayot” shelter
“Tashkent residents that are under quarantine due to COVID-19 disease can leave their pets for two weeks in the shelter "Hayot".” - The head of the State Inspectorate of Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare Nurmat Otabekov said to the correspondent of Podrobno.uz.
At a briefing of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications (AIMC), the chief sanitary doctor was asked whether there are organizations that will take care of domestic cats and dogs while the owner is quarantined because of the coronavirus.
Nurmat Otabekov noted that this topic is rather in the competence of the State Committee for Veterinary and Livestock Development. However, he reported that there is a shelter "Hayot" in Uzbekistan, which is located in Kibray district of Tashkent province.
The shelter can be contacted at (90) 357-44-77, Otabekov said. Staff members will arrive by zoo taxi and pick up the pet for 14 days.
