Keto Green beans in creamy lemon sauce

Green beans, lemon and cream. This combination is just perfect! Serve this keto green bean side dish with all your favorite meat and fish dishes!

Ingredients for 4 servings of keto green beans garnish

275 g fresh green beans
75 g butter or olive oil
½ teaspoon sea salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
225 ml (1 cup) heavy whipping cream
½ lemon zest
125 ml (½ cup) fresh parsley

Steps

1.Cut and wash fresh green beans.
2. Heat butter or olive oil in a skillet.
3. Saute the beans over medium heat for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Reduce heat towards the end of cooking. Season the beans with salt and pepper to taste.
4. Stir in the cream and simmer for a few minutes. Finely grate the lemon zest, or you can chop the lemon zest into very thin strips. Sprinkle the lemon zest on the beans before serving.
5. Season the beans with finely chopped parsley before serving.

Advice!

You can use both fresh and frozen green beans to prepare this dish. If using frozen beans, be sure to thaw them properly, otherwise the pan will cool down and taste more boiled than fried when cooking. You can also use yellow beans or waxy beans. This is delicious!
