The Discipleship Cycle

The discipleship cycle is “Pray – Go – Call – Grow – Send” and then, repeat this.

PRAY

Prayer is in a discipleship’s heart. It is through praying that we can see God's heart, and then express our utter confidence upon him in making disciples.

Prayer is listed as the primary one of the ten universal elements that can be found in every modern Church. Prayer is as essential to the Discipler like it is to their disciple, and it’s through commitment to it which its importance demonstrates to those being disciplined.

GO

Get exposed amongst the lost

Christ was really intentional about being out to stretch the good rumor. Peter is so eager to yell him back, but Christ insisted on moving on. It’s on that we’d find the people that are open.

Call

Focus on some to reach many

As it has been seen - Jesus talked to all but then he chose only some of them. He devoted in depth with the chosen handful, and then he sent them away with explicit commands to also do the same.

Jesus ministry had touched thousands; however, he trained the 12 men. He offered his life over the cross to millions; however, during the 3 1/2 year of his ministry, Jesus gave his life exclusively to the twelve men.

Christ concentrates most of his discipleship’s attention of the 12 men. He spoke parables in public, but unpacked the details in private later. Jesus gave his whole life now to the twelve, staying out every aspect of life in them. Discipleship required deep relationships and sharing all aspects of their life, and also not just the ministry activities.

Grow

Teach them how to obey

Christ instructed the disciples, not as the classroom exercise, however, in the practical hands-on manner. He said to them to ask to the God of Harvest to transmit laborers in the fields, and then no sooner had they’d asked that than Jesus sent them. Christ also instructed these twelve men to cast out the demons and to heal those who are sick - and amazingly they are doing exactly that (disclosing with varying stages of success).

Edifying in obedience earlier on in discipleships make it a habit, and it’s essential to stress, but, that we’re making disciples that are obedient to Christ but not to us. Utilizing the obedience-based method will help to place the concentration to the leadership of God and Christ commands. It also demonstrated that we’re serious regarding obedience as being the central requirement of following Jesus.

Send

Sending them out

One more characteristic of the Disciple Making Movement is the manner they trust the new believers with a ministry responsibility coming from the outset.

The new believers are anticipated to become witnesses right away; these new disciples instantly become disciplers of other people and even the church planters.

Jesus is no any difference. In Luke 9-10 we can see him transmitting his disciples on the mission trips, and in the end of the earthly ministry he transmits them out one more time to the nations.
