The last words of Jesus to his disciples were "move and make disciple of all nations" in Matthew 28:19. It is the discipleship essence - but when discipleship is a process of making disciple we need to initially understand what the disciple is.
The discipleship cycle is “Pray – Go – Call – Grow – Send” and then, repeat this.
Another important document has been approved at a General Assembly, the policy statement of a Worldwide Ministries Division that was entitled as “Do Missions in Partnership.” The partnership is intrinsic to the Trinitarian nature of God and the incarnation of mission. Everybody should take part in God’s task in partnership with the Lord, with the agencies and the partner churches from around the world and with our hurting world. Shifting beyond the ingrained paternalistic outline to equal 2-way missions and the authentic partnership is the challenge before us.
Leading people through the process of becoming a disciple of Christ is what discipleship training is all about. You live life with your fellow brother or sister in Christ as the trainer. In every scenario, you direct people to Christ and encourage them to develop in their faith via fellowship.
