What is the relationship between knowledge and culture?

Since scientific approach is usually the most unbiased, some scientists consider culture an unimportant aspect of acquiring knowledge, because cultural views are usually subjective. However, cultural peculiarities play a crucial role in providing some established facts with explanations as people tend to do things, having only traditions as an underlying reason. Especially it was typical for the past centuries, when the science was not that developed as it is now.

It was buried under a scythe, because people in that society believed that the buried vampires can reincarnate, and the scythe or other methods were supposed to prevent the vampires from movement. This fear of supernatural things was a significant factor that sometimes determined the behavior of people and thus it is important to consider it, while studying history-related objects.

It would be impossible for anthropologists to understand, what the object above the skeleton means or even recognize its importance without a reference to cultural traditions. And as it was established, historians got a solid example of vampire-related beliefs that proves some information found in written texts.

The cultural context plays a critical role in interpreting the results of research in history and other humanitarian subjects like literature and sociology.
