The purpose of the UV energy meter is to detect whether the power and energy of the UV light source meets the curing standard, to detect whether the UV light source is attenuated or needs to be replaced. A: Mercury lamp
Ultraviolet curing machines have been used for a long time now with mercury lamp light source as the mainstream. The principle of the mercury lamp is that the mercury in the lamp is excited by the voltage to become mercury gas and emit ultraviolet, visible and infrared rays. The industry has been striving for improvement due to defects such as fast decay, short life, high power consumption, high cost of use, increased temperature, large volume, and mercury content. B: LED UV curing light source:
At the beginning of the 21st century, UV curing entered the era of LED light sources. In addition to providing stable single-wavelength UV light, different power LEDs with wavelengths of 365nm, 385nm, 395nm, and 405nm can be selected. It has also attracted more and more attention from the industry due to its environmental protection, energy saving, long life, no heat radiation, and miniaturization of equipment that traditional mercury lamps do not have. In just a few years, UV-LED curing equipment has also started from a point light source and developed into a multi-branch, multi-purpose, such as line light source, surface light source, and wireless portable light source to meet the needs of various curing occasions. It does not contain mercury, it is a new energy-saving and environmentally friendly product, which makes the UV curing of the product faster, more efficient, greener, safer and more environmentally friendly.
For UV curing box: UV energy (mJ/cm2) = UV intensity (mW/cm2) * exposure time (s); therefore, precise control of UV intensity and exposure time can accurately control UV energy. Since the UV light source will decay over time, in order to control the UV energy of the curing process to be consistent, it is necessary to monitor the UV energy value of the UV curing process with a UV energy meter, so the role of the UV energy meter is very important.
