7. Feminine Gender. Pronoun इदम् (this) in Three Numbers

Pronouns इयम्, इमे, इमाः are used for persons and objects indicated by nouns of the feminine gender, according to the noun’s number.

• इयम् (feminine, singular) this
• इमे (feminine, dual) these two
• इमाः (feminine, plural) these

Singular Number

इयं वर्षा

iyaṃ varṣā this rain

इयं सखी

iyaṃ sakhī this friend

इयं रज्जुः

iyaṃ rajjuḥ this rope

Dual Number

इमे वर्षे

ime varṣe these two rains

इमे सख्यौ

ime sakhyau these two friends

इमे रज्जू

ime rajjū these two ropes

Plural Number

इमाः वर्षाः

imāḥ varṣāḥ these rains
