SCAM on upcoming listings. DOGS experience

📱 The release of coins for popular tapps (Catizen, Gamee (wat) and most importantly Hamster combat) is coming soon.

⚠️Therefore, the amount of scams will increase sharply, just as it was with DOGS. After reading this article, you will know about all the popular methods of fraud and how to protect yourself from them.

Types of scams on DOGS:

1. 🍯Honeypot

A coin that can be bought and received, but cannot be sold. You can lose money on the purchase and exchange commission.

Amount of losses: From 0.2 TON to the purchase amount

Distribution methods:
- Distribution to wallets
- Distribution through channels
- Carelessness when buying
- Internet advertising

Scheme:
A special coin contract is created, liquidity is added, and distribution begins (most often distribution to active wallets, also often sent to exchange accounts to increase user trust). Users receive coins and try to sell them, resulting in the transaction fee being charged, but the transaction itself does not go through. Also, some users buy coins and then can't sell them, losing money on purchases and commissions.

Example:
Fake DOGS coin - EQD_gWvX999ZVhIwDp1YlwJw4QJA2D-GzwD_NLGhsYBWT643
It was created on July 24, 2024, and in a month, the creator stole and withdrew funds on the exchange for at least 120,500 USDT

Attempts to exchange fake DOGS

2. 💬Scammers in chats

Many types, from purchase announcements to people posing as support.

Amount of losses: From 0 to the amount of all your funds and data

Distribution methods:
- Messages in chats/comments
- Private messages
(Support and administrators do not write in private messages first)

Scheme:
A scammer sees your message with a problem in the chat, then poses as platform support and writes to you in private messages to help solve the problem (most often writes that they need to check and sends you a link to connect your wallet or requests a seed phrase). If you fall for their actions, you can lose all your funds.

⚠️Support and administrators do not write in private messages first⚠️

⚠️Never share your seed phrase or private key with anyone⚠️

Example:
- You write a message in the chat with your problem
- The scammer sees this and writes to you posing as support
- You get scammed

3. Launching coins on other blockchains

This can be similar to honeypots (but on other blockchains) or just plain deception.

Amount of losses: From several $ to the loss of all funds.

Distribution methods:
- Distribution through channels
- Distribution to wallets
- Internet advertising

Scheme:
A channel is created or bought, where popular coins are posted, but on other blockchains. People buy them and lose funds, as these coins are most often honeypots as in point 1.

Example:
A channel advertising coin "presales", which are actually honeypots on the BNB CHAIN network. The channel covers itself with news of real projects and also presents exchange wallets as the exchanges themselves (Now almost every exchange has its own wallet)

One of several channels advertising "presales" of projects on other blockchains. Honeypots are posted in the channel.

4. Sniping

You may be offered to buy bots or invest money in sniper bots that will earn on the listing, but most likely you will lose your funds.

Amount of losses: From $50 (the cost of a simple bot) to several thousand dollars

Distribution methods:
- Advertising in Telegram channels
- Direct offers in chats

Scheme:
Scammers sell or rent "unique" bots for sniping new tokens. The bots either don't work or transfer users' funds to the scammers.

5. Vouchers (NFT)

Distributed as comments on transfers or NFTs.

Amount of losses: From 0 to the amount of all your funds and data

Distribution methods:
- Distribution to wallets
- Claim through scam bots

Scheme:
Scammers create a service for "claiming a drop" (most often a website or Telegram bot), then create NFTs with this service and distribute them to wallets. Scammers also often use specific promotions (for example, you completed a task in Catizen, and then you received a voucher from scammers for 10,000 CATI). After you go to the site from the voucher and connect your wallet, you will lose funds from your wallet.

Example:

6. Advertising on Telegram

Unfortunately, Telegram does not moderate advertising, and scams can appear among it, including ads containing offers to sell your coins or earn money on them.

Amount of losses: From 0 to the amount of all your funds and data

Distribution methods:
- Advertising through Telegram ads (ads under posts in channels)
- Advertising in Telegram channels and bots

Scheme:
Scammers create a bot/channel/resource with scam content (most often a pyramid scheme, but scams are also common) and distribute it through official Telegram advertising (where you can now attach images and it looks like a post). Then the user follows the ad and loses funds.

⚠️Not all advertising on Telegram is a scam, but it should be treated with caution, especially offers to earn money quickly.⚠️

Methods of protection against scams:

1. Read this article and complete the lessons

You're almost there. After reading this article and completing the lessons in our bot, it will be much harder for scammers to deceive you, and your funds are more likely to remain with you.

2. Check official sources

They always have the most accurate information.

Catizen - https://t.me/catizenbot
Gamee - https://t.me/gamee
Hamster Combat - https://t.me/hamster_kombat_bot
STON.FI - https://linktr.ee/ston.fi

These are links to official bots where you can find links to official channels and project chats.

3. Verify data

Always verify the data of support and people who write to you. Never send seed phrases or private keys. It's best to simply go to the profile from a verified source, for example, from the list of administrators in the official STON.FI chat (https://t.me/stonfichat) or to the official STON.FI support - https://t.me/STONfi_support_bot

4. Don't fall for presales and easy money schemes (honeypots)

Easy money sounds great, but it often leads to the loss of your funds. Always verify information and make decisions independently, and don't invest all your funds.

5. Always think about what you're doing

It's better to think several times and double-check information than to chase quick profits. Large projects usually give several days for withdrawal, so you can always have time to verify and clarify information.

6. Don't store all funds in one place and don't link your main wallet to suspicious sites

It's better to use several wallets and exchange accounts, as well as a separate wallet for any suspicious sites you're not sure about.
