Bittrex Mixes Up a User’s Funds, Causes a Wildfire In The Community

Bittrex, a US-based cryptocurrency exchange platform, has been under some criticism and hate recently due to mixing up between Cryptos, namely Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Bitcoin SV (BSV) for a particular user who claims that his money has been taken from him and not returned back. While all this happens on a daily basis to someone or the other in this crypto market of ambiguity and illusions, this post blew up to mainstream levels and has garnered the attention of everyone.

How it Happened

The user who was unfortunate to lose his US $100,000 of crypto writes about how it took place :

“Just lost 100k with Bittrex sending BCH together with BSV. Somehow half of BCH been transferred together with BSV. Bittrex doesn’t want to return my funds. They have private keys and can do, but say that will not do. Does anyone have contacts of higher managers or their financial support to fix this issue directly? All I get is typical replies like from a robot. It is ok if it were 100 USD but this was 100K on Bittrex account which they don’t want to return.”

This response was covered by many media sources and the user was approached by many news websites. His response to one of the news website following the incident was :

“I’ve been messaging to support regarding this for many days and no one tried to help me. Created many support tickets. They all just replying like robots and that will not refund any cent. I believe that someone of workers can even steal that money after some time without notifying their chiefs. This amount is very big for me and my family.”

What It Means For Bittrex

Bittrex is a famous exchange platform used by many users on a daily basis. This Incident has certainly shaken up the faith of many users who think they could’ve been in the place of our unfortunate user. While Bittrex isn’t any other shady user interface it sure hasn’t done anything to make things right. No response has been recorded from Bittrex since the situation and nobody is still sure what really happened which caused this mishap. While many have been supportive of the user to hang in there, some have shredded every sympathy from their soul and have blamed the user for his negligence in keeping the codes in mind while transacting.
