Shane took in all of Scarlett's body with his eyes. She lay sleeping on her side with her back to him, her left leg bent under her right, her arms under the pillow. He wanted to touch her but she would wake up at the slightest movement and he wanted to watch her in this peaceful state for a few more moments. Her pale skin was warm and always so soft, her red hair lay splayed on the pillow, she smelled like an intoxicating combination of her vanilla perfume, sleep and her scent from last night's sex.
