Uzbekneftegaz JSC – the first plant in Uzbekistan’s oil and gas sector to obtain the Customs Operator Certificate
In the development of Uzbekistan’s economy, the expansion of foreign trade relations, and the improvement of logistics processes in line with modern requirements, Uzbekistan GTL LLC has achieved another important milestone. The plant has been recognized as the first enterprise in the country’s oil and gas sector to obtain the Customs Operator Certificate.
What does this certificate provide?
According to Clause 19 of the Regulation on Authorized Economic Operators, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 500 of August 24, 2020, this status grants legal entities a number of exclusive simplifications. In particular:
- priority customs declaration and release of goods;
- the possibility to defer or make installment payments of customs duties (up to 30 calendar days);
- exemption from the obligation to indicate the route during transportation of goods;
- official recognition by customs authorities of the seals placed by the enterprise on exported goods;
- carrying out customs transit without securing customs payments;
- the right to transport foreign goods without customs escort.
This certificate not only simplifies customs operations for Uzbekistan GTL but also contributes to more efficient organization of production processes. Import procedures for equipment, spare parts, and reagents required for the plant will now be significantly accelerated. In addition, customs clearance for the export of synthetic fuels and other products produced by the plant will be streamlined.
This achievement of Uzbekistan GTL LLC is of particular importance as the first enterprise in the oil and gas sector to obtain such a certificate. This status not only facilitates the company’s foreign economic activities but also serves as an example for other organizations in the industry.
