Uzbekistan Launches Cross-Linked Polyethylene Production

For the first time in Uzbekistan, a final agreement has been signed for the production of cross-linked polyethylene (PE-X) raw materials. Based on these documents, a joint venture named "NASAF XCP TECHNO" has been established, officially launching the project.

The enterprise was created in partnership with the Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex, the Chinese company Yunnan Xinchengpeng Polymer Technology, and Techno Cable Group, which is part of the Uzeltkhsanoat association.

For reference, cross-linked polyethylene (PE-X) is stronger, more flexible, and more resistant to high temperatures compared to regular polyethylene. It is commonly used in water and gas pipelines, heating systems, and electrical insulation.

The implementation of this $8 million project will reduce imports by $30 million annually, create 65 new jobs, and strengthen the domestic industry. As a result, the annual domestic demand of 25,000–30,000 tons for this product—previously not produced in Uzbekistan—will now be met by local production.
