Modernization Works at the Mubarek Gas Processing Plant
The cost reduction program launched in 2024 at the Mubarek Gas Processing Plant is already showing its first results. The modernization processes carried out last year have led to a reduction in energy consumption.
As a result of implementing an energy-efficient, modern three-stage digitalized system, annual savings of 21.7 thousand kWh of electricity used for block operation and 405 thousand kWh of electricity consumed for technical air supply have been achieved. Additionally, the repair of outdated measuring instruments has resulted in annual savings of approximately 890 million UZS.
Overall, the total cost savings for the year amounted to 1.254 billion UZS.
Currently, a series of modernization efforts have been carried out on 21 units to ensure the absorption of gaseous components (H₂S and CO₂) contained in natural gas, as well as to improve the reliability of the sulfur purification unit (SOU) technological processes.
In particular, outdated internal elements of units K-1 and K-2 have been replaced with modern packing materials. A new state-of-the-art automated process control system has been installed at the sulfur purification unit (SOU) of Block No. 14
Additionally, in March of this year, the replacement of worn-out internal elements with modern packing materials is planned for the sulfur purification unit columns No. 13 and 24 (K-1,2 SOU-23,24).
