Uzbekneftegaz JSC Receives its First ESG Rating

The international rating agency “Sustainable Fitch” has conducted a comprehensive assessment of Uzbekneftegaz JSC’s activities in the areas of environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) and has assigned the company its first-ever ESG rating.

The issuance of this rating demonstrates that the company’s initiatives in this area align with the objectives of the “Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy.”

According to the agency’s conclusions, Uzbekneftegaz JSC has been awarded an ESG rating of “3” with a score of 50. This is considered a high result for the oil and gas sector and reflects the company’s consistent reforms in sustainable development, environmental responsibility, and governance efficiency. Given the stringent environmental requirements in the industry, this assessment indicates that Uzbekneftegaz JSC is making confident progress toward a sustainable business model.

For reference, ESG ratings are assigned based on a five-tier scale ranging from “1” (highest) to “5”.
