Travelcoup - The Semi-Private Jet Airline.
Travelcoup is a Swiss company focused on delivering a first class flying experience to Europe’s finest destinations. After a period of seeing travel bought to a standstill by Covid, now travellers are being asked to put up with crowded terminals, delayed flights, lost baggage and a travel experience that costs more but offers less.
Visitors flying to the Balearic Islands have always had the choice between scheduled low-cost and charter airlines, which ply these routes several times a day. But since the end of 2023, there is a carrier that stands out from the crowd.
Travelcoup offers a 'semi-private jet' experience on an Embraer ERJ145, which - instead of the usual 49 economy seats - is equipped with 22 business class seats in a 1-1 configuration, offering every passenger a combined window and aisle seat.
Travelcoup was the first provider of the 'private jet package holiday' concept in Germany and Switzerland in 2021, and it is now bringing another innovation to Europe with the scheduled service 'semi-private jet'. The focus is on holiday destinations, not business customers.
The first-class experience in the air and the stress-free, time-saving processing at the general aviation private jet terminals, ensures our vacations really begin with the flight. This is not always the case with many airlines, especially with an intra-European business class, often at the same price."
Travelcoup says passengers benefit from minimal waiting times at security or passport control, and short transfers to the aircraft because services operate from general aviation terminals. The airline does not have its own lounges, but does offer customers access to existing airport lounges.
Prices for flights from Munich and Zurich to Palma de Mallorca start at just €795 per person, one way.
Semi-private jet travel has already proved to be popular in the US and in time to come, as Travelcoup puts Its expansion plans into practice, the European market may well grow along similar lines. The North of Germany and new Mediterranean destinations are in the pipeline.
