2. How it works?

Aleo used ZKP protocol for creating privacy dApps/own blockchain. ZKP is cryptographic techniques that allow one party to prove to another that a statement about some hidden information is true, without revealing anything about that information.

With ZKP powered application platforms such as Aleo, users can enjoy personalized online experiences without fearing privacy breaches in both the Web2 or Web3 setting.

4. Practical uses cases of ZKP

• Personal identification, such as a driver’s license, Social Security card or passport
• Proof of income, such as W-2s, paystubs or filed tax returns
• Employer’s information, including the company name
• Proof of residence.

5. Consensus

Aleo uses a new SNARK-based consensus algorithm called Proof-of-Succinct-Work (PoSW), which provides the same security guarantees as Bitcoin’s Proof-of-Work (PoW).

6. Testnet

At the end of 2021, Aleo conducted a testnet, in which anyone could take part. It was necessary to have a powerful computer and install a miner on it.

Aleo already launched a new testnet on August 1.
