What, All и It в расщепленных предложениях
Чтобы сделать акцент в предложении на действии или серии действий, мы можем использовать предложения, начинающиеся с What.
He dropped the vase. What happened was (that) he dropped the vase.
Мы можем использовать Wh- clauses в вводных фразах.
What I would like to know is where the money went.
Вместо what в таких предложениях можно использовать all.
All I'd like to say is that the company appreciates your work.
Чтобы сделать акцент на определенную часть предложения, можно использовать It + be + that/who.
Mike left his bag on the train. = It was Mike who left his bag on the train. (акцент на то, что это сделал Mайк) = It was his bag that Mike left on the train. (акцент на том, что это была сумка).
It's because you have such a good sense of humor that I enjoy your company. (акцент на причине).
It was only yesterday that I discovered the documents were missing. (акцент на времени).
It was by chance that they met in Paris. (акцент на причине).
