Why Shazam Matters
1. Playlist Influence: Shazam data is used to create playlists on Apple Music and Spotify. The more people Shazam a song, the more likely it is to appear in playlists, boosting an artist's popularity and success.
2. Radio Impact: Radio stations consider Shazam requests when selecting songs for rotation. Airplay is a key factor in charts and can significantly impact an artist's success.
3. Charts: Shazam has its own Top 200 chart and genre-specific charts, featuring songs with the most Shazams. These charts help users discover trending tracks.
Shazam on iOS:
• Download the Shazam app from the App Store.
• Make sure microphone access is enabled in the app settings.
• Allow location access so your Shazams are counted in both global and local charts.
• Play the song you want to identify on any platform.
• Open Shazam and tap the button.
• Wait for the app to recognize the track — that’s your Shazam!
• To delete Shazam entries: go to My Music -> Songs -> Select Song -> Delete.
Shazam on Android
• Download Shazam from Google Play.
• Give Shazam access to your location so that your shazams are taken into account in the global and local charts.
• Turn on the microphone: Allow the Shazam app to record audio? When using the app.
• Play the track you want to define.
• Open the app and press the Shazam button.
• Wait for Shazam to recognize the song. It's one Shazam.
• Go to Settings -> Apps -> Shazam -> Storage -> Clear data.
• After clearing the data, turn on the microphone access for Shazam again.
• Repeat this process every 5-10 minutes and run Shazam at least 50-100 times a day. It only takes 10 seconds!
Shazam on PC
• Add the Shazam extension in Google Chrome from the online store.
• Click on the puzzle icon in the upper right corner of the browser and pin Shazam.
• Turn on any XLOV song in the streaming application installed in the browser.
• Click on the Shazam icon in the upper right corner of the browser and select Shazam during playback. Wait for the artist and the song name to be recognized.
• After recognition, click Shazams -> Delete all.
With the Chrome extension, you can use Shazam an unlimited number of times a day, provided that you delete Shazam compositions each time.
