Brigitte Fossey's Jubilee
On June 15, 1946, in the French city of Tourcoing, a girl was born into the family of a school teacher named Fossey and his wife Marcelle Feuillade. Daughter was named Brigitte Florence.
It is difficult to say how the fate of this girl would have turned out, but in 1951 her aunt, sister of Brigitte's mother, caught the eye of the ad “The director is looking for a little girl between the ages of nine and twelve”. Brigitte's aunt persuaded Marcelle to present her daughter to the casting. And, as it turned out, she was absolutely right: despite the fact that the age of five-year-old at that time Brigitte was outside the age range stated in the ad, the director of the future film, René Clément, was captivated by the naturalness, spontaneity, and also self-confidence of little Brigitte Fossey.
A year later, when the film "Jeux interdits (Forbidden Games)" was released, its little main character won the hearts of moviegoers, and not only in France: the English queen herself expressed a desire to meet little Brigitte personally.
As usual, after such a stunning success, offers from other directors fell on Brigitte, and the girl starred in a couple of films, which, however, did not enjoy much success with the audience. And then the parents of little Brigitte made a wise decision to protect her from cinema and give her the opportunity to get a "normal" education. Brigitte graduated with a BA in Philology and a qualification as a translator in Geneva and at the age of 21 ... returned to the cinema, starring in the film "Le grand Meaulnes (The Wanderer)".
For her 75th Jubilee, Brigitte Fossey has in her portfolio roles in 46 full-length feature films, in addition to numerous roles in theatrical performances and television films. 2 films with the participation of Brigitte Fossey entered the Golden Thousand. Thanks to this indicator and thanks to her beauty, Brigitte Fossey entered the list of the 100 most beautiful and sexiest Actresses in the world of cinema, compiled by FilmGourmand.
For the first time, Soviet moviegoers, including myself, could see Brigitte Fossey on a movie screen in the early 80s in the films “La boum (The Party)” and “La boum-2 (The Party-2)”, in which she played the beautiful and sexy mother of the main character played by young Sophie Marceau. To contemplate and wonder what the hell her husband needed in the film to walk “to the left” of such a beauty.
As usual, in honor of the significant anniversary of the Actress, I want to remind her fans of the best films with her participation.
