Getting Started π―

After the tutorial, your kingdom will be under initial protection for β³30 minutes. During this time the priority is to expand your defenses π‘ using your Builders 𧱠to prepare for player vs player war. Other players with similar attack criteria π±οΈβοΈπ will be able to attack your kingdom after your protection period π ends.
While under protection move your strongest vassals π₯ to the Builders 𧱠to increase the building π¨ rate and return to your Builders 𧱠to initiate more building π¨ commands after each Order π completes.

You may choose to spend gold π° to buy the building π¨ expansions but be sure to save some to heal π your army and your defenders.

During your initial protection you can try to attackβοΈ your first Adversaries π€ while you build and wait for your protection π to end. Adversaries π€ are Non Playing Characters, NPC, and will retreat if you attempt to seize π₯ or miss πͺ. They will return every β³2 hours. Before you can attackβοΈ you must recruit vassals to your army π©. Recruited vassals π₯ are your attackers but they do not leave your buildings. You must successfully raid π₯ a defense π‘ in order to be able to initiate a seize π₯. Then attempt to seize π₯ attackβοΈ a district βͺοΈπ΅π΄ for the target vassal π₯. If your attackβοΈ is successful your target will become your vassal π₯ and appear in your Court β²οΈ. Vassals π₯ seized π₯ from adversaries π€ are immediately loyal to you unlike vassals π₯ seized from live players.

After Protection Ends π
When your protection ends π you will also be able to attackβοΈ other players, rivalsπ©π»π¨π½. The rivals π©π»π¨π½ you can attackβοΈ will be selected based on attack criteria π±οΈβοΈπ . Be sure to put your best vassals π₯ in the defense π‘ to protect your kingdom. If your defense π‘ power βοΈ is less than the attack strengthπ±οΈ of your rivalsπ©π»π¨π½ they will have an easy time raidingπ₯ your gold π° and seizing π₯ your vassals π₯. Make it a priority to expand π¨ your defenses π‘ when you can. A good recommendation for the defenses π‘ power βοΈ is twice the power of your maximum attack strengthπ±οΈ, this is referred to as your Alpha attack. Vassals π₯ seized π₯ from rivals π©π»π¨π½ will have a loyalty chain π to their original liege π. They will have β³24 hours to attempt to rescue it back from you. Having prisoners π in your kingdom will create unrest π£ but they can only lead an uprising if unrest π£ reaches 100%.

Try to distribute your vassals π₯ evenly in your defenses π‘ but you may chose to only defend one or two of the districts βͺοΈπ΅π΄ in your kingdom. Defending only one or two districts βͺοΈπ΅π΄ means you have placed vassals π₯ in the defense π‘ that defend the the buildings in that column, under the that specific defense π‘, and you aren't defending one of the other districts because you haven't placed vassals in the defense that defends that column; this is calling running lines. You may want to run lines when you don't have enough vassals π₯ to defend all three district βͺοΈπ΅π΄ or if defending all three districts βͺοΈπ΅π΄ makes your defense π‘ power βοΈ less then your rivals' attack strength π±οΈ. Running lines can be beneficial but it does require you to make some choices about which building functions will take priority in your kingdom.
When all your defenses π‘ have similar power βοΈ strength they are said to be balanced. It makes it more difficult for your rivals to find targeted vassals without the Hideout π― building, a building unlocked when you reach the title π of Viscount/Viscountess, if your defenses π‘ are balanced. In addition to balanced defenses, it is wise to keep balance between your kingdom vassals π₯. Balanced kingdoms have vassals of similar power βοΈ. Having large differences in power βοΈ between your vassals π₯ can make it more difficult to fill your defenses π‘ with enough power βοΈ to defend against the maxim attack strength π±οΈ of your rivals; however, some more advanced strategies include unbalance.
